Digital Landscapes occupies a space between the analog and digital worlds. Each of my images begins as a photograph sourced from NASA's massive archive that belongs wholly in the public domain. The images, whether they are of astronauts John Glenn and Buzz Aldrin, the Earth, the Sounds of the Earth record cover, or the space station from 2001 are digitally manipulated to form cavernous canyons and cliffs. These echo naturally occurring phenomena like those found on Giant's Causeway in County Antrim, Ireland and reimagine the construction of digital images through the use of tens of thousands of individual pixel columns.
